when i first started working on this image for a show i was putting up in town, i wasn't particularly crazy about the photograph, but the more i worked with it and once it was printed, it turned into one of my favorite pieces in the exhibit.
it's not really the content that i'm drawn to, but more the different shapes within the photograph and how the white stairs stand out over everything else.
the photograph is part of a series i put together from my trip to cairo, il. i still have a lot of negatives to go through from that trip, but i believe my strongest images have already been scanned.

i'm escaping town for a few days. going to an amusement park today, then heading to chapel hill, nc to hang out there until tuesday. i'm working on a photography project with a friend of mine there.
the following photos are just snippets of last weekend when my best friend elizabeth, and her daughter, eris, came to visit me.

it's that time of year where people start calling me for senior portraits. so far i've only done 2, but both were a lot of fun. the girls had fun clothes to wear were super easy to work with.

off to a bad start at posting things daily...
yesterday i photographed the university's equestrian center. the program there is a amazing and being around the beautiful horses brought back child hood memories of visiting my dad when he lived on a farm. i loved horses as a kid.
the equestrian center not only serves as practice grounds for the lander equestrian team, but it also has "therapy riding" for people with disabilities.
this is shot is going to be the cover of the local magazine.
